State Tourism Funding Increased

On Saturday June 30, 2007, Governor Ted Strickland signed Ohio's budget bill into law and it included language that increases the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism budget to nearly $9 million in FY 08 and nearly $10 million in FY 09.  Furthermore, a new travel and tourism cooperatives project line item was created and provides travel and tourism with an additional $350,000 in funding in FY 08 and $350,000 in FY 09. 

Thank you to everyone who participated in OACVB’s March legislative day and made phone calls to your legislators, and to the members of the Ohio Tourism Roundtable (OH&LA, OACVB, ORA, OTA) whose unified industry support for increased funding made this happen.
