An Every Day Island Getaway was born out of a need to have a one island one voice concept post-covid and to make the new brand recognizable throughout the community to our visitors. The need was to bring more business to the island during the week and the target audience was families and empty nesters. A safe task force was formed and money was raised by the community and its businesses to hire marketing firm to help develop a new logo and new brand. Marketing An Every Day Island Getaway to be a back yard vacation or a one tank trip to the ferry and have the island experience while here.

The Put-in-Bay Community Sign idea was for families and friends to come together and take photos that would become iconic to the island. A community committee was formed and the fundraising began to raise enough money to pay for the sign. Donations events took place such as tours of the iconic Benson Ford Shiphouse. Landscaping bricks were also sold as a way to raise funds. South Bass Island State Park was chosen as the sign’s destination because of the beautiful sunsets and it being a gathering place for families and friends. The sign was strategically placed for the sunset to come through the “B” in Put-in-Bay.

The PIB sign project was funded fully through donations by the Put-in-Bay community and local businesses so that families and friends of the Bay can enjoy it for years to come!
