Each year during the month of December, Muskingum County experiences A Storybook Christmas. A month filled with holiday lights, events, family-oriented activities, and more. Families come to downtown Zanesville to experience the magic in the air and see the excitement that St. Nick is near on children’s faces. During the holiday season, Visit Zanesville distributes over 3,000 Storybook Christmas booklets highlighting events taking place in each community throughout Muskingum County. The goal and marketing objective is to promote each event and Muskingum County as a holiday destination. The local community as well as surrounding counties in Ohio is the target audience. A Storybook Christmas booklet provides the need of families creating holiday memories, local economic impact, and community pride. The booklet brings awareness of events, shopping and dining opportunities that are available throughout Muskingum County during the holiday season.
