An Every Day Island Getaway was born out of a need to have a one island one voice concept post covid and to make the new brand reconizable throughout the community to our visitors. The need was to bring more business to the island during the week and the target audience was families and empty nesters. A safe task force was formed and money was raised by the community and its businesses to hire a marketing firm to come up with a new logo and a new brand. Marketing An Every Day Island Getaway to be a back yard vacation or a one tank trip to the ferry and to have the island experience while here.
The Put-in-Bay Island Guide is the main marketing piece used to welcome our visitors to the island and to help them understand what all there is to do and see while they are here. It helps them to plan their trip to the island showing all the ways to get here, where to stay, how to get around on the island and what to expect once they are here. Showing in the guide all of the things you can do while you are on the island and that you can stay for a day or stay for a week long vacation.
We distrubute 250,000 guides in a 6 month season through our ferry services the Miller Boat Line, Jet Express, Ad Rack, Ohio Travel Pavilion, online & telephone requests as well as through all of our member businesses.
The island guide is self-funded through our membership packages offered to our members. The PIB Chamber & Tourism Bureau is soley funded by membership and fundraisers. The lodging tax dollars go to Shores & Island of Ohio who also markets the Bay along with Ottawa and Erie Counties.
