2. A committee was formed under the RCVB to address Destination Development. The plan of action formed by the committee called for a renovating the pavilion in Edward Ford Memorial Park into an entertainment venue and a digital kiosk to better tell the story of the history of Rossford, Ohio that was founded in 1898 by Edward Ford. We developed a capital campaign to raise funds to support the project. The 8-page ‘Building Our Legacy’ piece was created to generate interest and sponsorship in the project. The kick-off was a success with numerous members of the business community attending. While we did not raise the dollars we had hoped for, the in-kind donations of design services, materials, and labor, combined with a Wood County Parks & Recreation Grant, more than covered Phase 1 and have supplemented Phase 2 of the project. The 4-page ‘Edward Ford Memorial Renovation’ piece recognizes the contributions and the work of the committee and the sponsors.
