Float Troy is the only public-floating tent experience in Ohio. The tent is an inflatable, floating raft with a tent topper that allows you to sleep on the water, manufactured right in Troy, Ohio. The tents are anchored to the river bottom as well as tethered to the shore. Because this unique experience is fairly new, our objective is to continue to build awareness that this opportunity exists, and it only exists in Troy, Ohio. This experience has been extremely popular for outdoor adventurers, families, friends, and couples.
Float Troy is seasonal, so nights are available June-September. They have consistently added dates over the past three years based on demand because of increased reach and awareness due to marketing and word of mouth. We have helped this program thrive through the marketing we have created and pushed out and the partnerships we have built with influencers who help us tell our story. Please look at the links and stats from our work with influencers (attached) to promote Float Troy. We comped their stay in the floating tents and built two-day itineraries for them to enjoy food, drinks, attractions, shopping, and more in Miami County. The reach and exposure that we received was awesome, and this helped us reach other audiences that we weren’t currently reaching with our marketing and promotions. In our paid Facebook ad for Float Troy, we reached over 220,000 people. Facebook is currently the top referral site to our website.
We highlighted Float Troy in our promotional video that focused on outdoor recreation and our downtown communities, and we were very excited with the exposure it’s received as part of this video. Our Facebook post reached over 6200 people with 3500 viewing the full video. It has received 899 engagements and has been shared 32 times. On Instagram, we’ve reached 902 people with 549 views, 7 comments, and 19 shares. Our video highlighting Float Troy also gained traction with TourismOhio. Matt MacLaren came with his family to Troy to stay in our floating tents and posted about it. TourismOhio made this video the main post on their Facebook page for Labor Day weekend last year. It was shared an additional 28 times from this post.
Float Troy is currently the second highest accessed page on the visitors bureau’s website, so I would say that the marketing we are doing is working.
